Office Chair Manufacturer Supplying Egypt
We manufacture office seating in Casablanca and ship it to Egyptian importers, dealers and corporate buyers. Industrial goods move between Morocco and Egypt free of customs duty under the Agadir Agreement.
The Agadir Agreement, and what it actually covers
Egypt and Morocco are both parties to the Agadir Agreement, signed in Rabat in February 2004 and in force since March 2007. It exempts industrial goods traded between its members from customs duties. The other members are Jordan and Tunisia.
Duty-free on industrial goods
Office chairs are industrial goods and fall within the scope of the agreement. Your broker applies the preferential rate on presentation of a valid proof of origin, which is what makes the difference on your landed cost.
Pan-Euro-Mediterranean origin
The agreement applies the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean rules of origin, the same system the European Union uses, with cumulation across participating countries. The proof of origin travels with the goods; confirm with your broker which form your clearance requires.
Tariff heading
Swivel office chairs with height adjustment are classified under heading 9401.30. We state it on the commercial invoice, alongside the packing list and the certification documents.
Three ways Egyptian buyers work with us
Cairo concentrates the regional offices, outsourcing centres and banking floors that specify office seating by the hundred. Those are the two settings where our own corporate deliveries have been made: call and shared service centres, and banking and corporate floors.
Importers and wholesalers
You buy by the container and resell to dealers or end users. Minimum order 100 units on the Challenger and 20 on the Exclusive, EXW or FOB Casablanca, with export documentation prepared for every shipment.
Office furniture dealers
You need a source whose certification satisfies a specification and whose reorder takes one week. Private labelling is available: fabric, colour, mechanism and armrests are decided on the production run.
Corporate and facilities buyers
You equip offices, outsourcing centres or several sites at once. BIFMA and EN 1335 certification covers procurement and tender requirements, and one container covers a full floor.
Same continent, agreement in place, own production
An agreement that already exists
Sourcing from Morocco does not require a new trade arrangement to be negotiated. The Agadir Agreement has been in force since 2007, and it covers exactly the kind of goods you are buying.
Replenishment in one week
A reorder of a model we have already run for you takes one week. The same replenishment from East Asia sits on the water for weeks, which is what forces an importer to carry stock.
We own the line
Our own moulds, our own upholstery workshop, our own assembly. A question about a mechanism or a test report reaches the people who built the chair, not an intermediary who has to ask a factory they do not control.
The figures to work from
Every figure assumes chairs shipped disassembled, which is how export orders leave the factory. It is the single factor that decides what you pay in freight per chair.
| Model | Type | Minimum order | 40ft HC | First order of 100 | Reorder |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Challenger 175 | Operator chair, Aero 3D mesh, headrest | 100 | 360 | 15 days | 1 week |
| Exclusive 500 | Executive chair, leather | 20 | 200 | 30 days | 1 week |
Incoterms EXW or FOB Casablanca. Mixed orders across models are possible — ask for the exact container plan on your combination. Exclusive G, BY 1, BY G and Caddy 80 are available too.
Importing from Morocco, in practice
Is there a trade agreement between Morocco and Egypt?
Yes, the Agadir Agreement. It was signed in Rabat in February 2004 and entered into force in March 2007, and it exempts industrial goods traded between its members — Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia — from customs duties. It applies the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean rules of origin.
What proof of origin do you supply?
The proof of origin required under the Pan-Euro-Mediterranean system travels with every shipment, alongside the commercial invoice, the packing list and the certification documents. Tell us which form your customs broker needs for clearance and we will confirm it before the goods leave.
What is the minimum order quantity?
100 units for the Challenger operator chair and 20 units for the Exclusive executive chair. Mixed orders are possible — ask us for the exact container plan on your combination.
How many chairs fit in one container?
A 40ft High Cube holds 360 Challenger or 200 Exclusive chairs, shipped disassembled. A 20ft holds 150 or 80 respectively.
How long does a reorder take?
One week, because the setup is already done. A first order of 100 Challenger chairs takes 15 days and 100 Exclusive 30 days, counted from order confirmation. Sea freight is added on top and confirmed for your port in the quotation.
Are the chairs certified for tenders?
Yes. BIFMA 2011 and EN 1335-1-2-3:2016. Certificates are supplied with the quotation rather than after the order. If your purchase goes through a tender, tell us which documents the file requires and we will assemble them.
Do you manufacture, or do you resell?
We manufacture. The chairs are produced on our own line in Casablanca, where we have been making them since 2008, and we own the moulds our plastic components come from. That is also what lets us supply a spare part years after a delivery.
Tell us what you need to land in Egypt
Models, quantities and destination port. We come back with the container plan, the production lead time and an FOB Casablanca price, with the origin documents the Agadir Agreement requires.
