Container loading — factory figures

How Many Office Chairs Fit in a 40ft Container?

360 Challenger task chairs, or 200 Exclusive executive chairs, in a 40ft High Cube — shipped disassembled. These are our own loading figures, not estimates. Below: the 20ft equivalents, production lead times, Incoterms and the ports we already ship to.

The numbers

Units per container, by model

Every figure below assumes chairs shipped disassembled, which is how we ship export orders. It is the single factor that decides how much you pay per chair in freight.

Figures are for chairs shipped disassembled. Mixed loads of both models are possible — ask us for the exact count on your combination.

Why it matters

Disassembled is not a detail, it is the whole economics

Flat packing

Seat, backrest, base, gas lift and castors travel flat. An assembled chair is mostly air: the same container would carry a fraction of the units, and your freight cost per chair would rise accordingly.

Reassembly

No special tooling is required. Distributors who stock our chairs assemble on receipt or at the point of delivery, which also makes warehouse storage far more compact than finished goods.

Damage in transit

Flat components in their own cartons travel better than assembled chairs, whose armrests and castors are the first things to suffer in a long sea crossing.

Questions importers ask

Container loading, in detail

How many office chairs fit in a 40ft High Cube container?

It depends on the model. A 40ft High Cube holds 360 Challenger task chairs or 200 Exclusive executive chairs, shipped disassembled. A 20ft container holds 150 Challenger or 80 Exclusive.

Are the chairs shipped assembled or disassembled?

Disassembled. Seat, backrest, base, gas lift and castors travel flat, which is what makes these loading figures possible. An assembled chair wastes most of the volume it occupies. Reassembly needs no special tooling.

How long does production take?

A hundred Challenger chairs are produced in 15 days. A hundred Exclusive chairs take 30 days, the leather upholstery being slower. Production starts once the order is confirmed; shipping time is added on top.

Which Incoterms do you work with?

EXW at our Casablanca factory, or FOB Casablanca. Under FOB we handle export clearance and delivery to the port; you keep control of the ocean freight and of your own forwarder.

Which countries have you already shipped to?

Challenger has shipped to France, Spain, Benin and the United States. Exclusive has shipped to Germany, Poland, Spain and Mexico. Export documentation is handled for every destination.
